Coptic Stitch Bookbinding

Not currently scheduled - Call 303-421-9597 to schedule

$100 (includes all materials for 9"x 5.5" book)
No previous bookbinding experience necessary.

Coptic Stitch is an exposed spine binding method based on early Coptic codices from 1st century Egypt. It is a very stable, yet flexible binding, which doesn't require a lot of specialized equipment to create.

A variety of papers will be available for covers, but if you would prefer a particular paper, I highly recommend the selection at Kozo. It is a small, locally owned art supply store on Ellsworth, just east of Broadway which specializes in supplies for bookbinding and print making.

Bring a sack lunch. Weather permitting, we'll picnic by the pond.

Call 303-421-9597 to register by credit card or use the Pay Pal link below. (The Pay Pal cart will be under Gardner Animation Specialists which is Alchemical Eye Studio's corporate parent) Class size is limited, so please register early. Feel free to call with any questions.
