Located
on an old farm at the end of a dead end street, Alchemical Eye Studio
feels like a world apart. When you turn down the lane, you think, "City?
There's no city!" You know you've arrived in a magical and creative
space. Studio A stands tall at the back of the lot at 6585. That building
houses the studio of mixed media artist, Judy Gardner and the dark room
of photographer, Fred Reim. Across the street at 6440 is The Alembic,
an art hub with several artists' studios, a printmaking studio, gallery
and classroom. The Alembic will also be home to an art residency in the
near future. At 6595, at the end of the street, Andrew Simpkins is building
his own studio/gallery space, making W 62nd Place a truly one stop studio
tour.
